The Antinori Family has been in the wine business since Giovanni
de Piero Antinori joined the Florentine Guild of Vintners in 1385. Throughout the
company’s long history, it has remained family owned and operated, and today Marchese
Piero Antinori directs it. Longtime supporters of our “Winemasters” event, the Antinoris
have created this remarkable six-day, five-night holiday at some of most renowned
Antinori estates in Tuscany and Umbria:
Spend two nights at Fonte de’ Medici – a cluster of beautifully
restored farmhouses in the heart of Chianti Classico. During your stay you’ll
enjoy a private winery visit and tasting, a lunch at the Estate Villa and a
four-course dinner at Cantinetta Antinori featuring two bottles of Antinori’s
finest Chianti Classico wines.
Next enjoy an overnight stay at Grand Hotel Tombolo in the
fairy tale town of Bolgheri. This luxury hotel is just down the road from the
Antinori vineyards and across the street from its own private sandy beach. Your
stay includes a visit and tasting at the Antinori property, along with lunch
and wine tasting in the country home of the estate.
Finally, spend two nights at Castello della Sala, located
in the northwestern corner of Umbria’s border with Tuscany, just 11 miles north
of the historic town of Orvieto. The site of 29 enchanting farmhouses, this
is the estate selected by Piero’s father. Included: two breakfasts and two dinners
at the Castello, a guided visit of the estate vineyards and cellars, plus a
wine tasting. Weekends excluded, as Castello is a private home. Valid
to 5/17/09, at a mutually convenient time. Please make arrangements AT LEAST

Tonight, event Co-Chairmen Sharon and Hal Lampert, along with
Ryan Sage of Flask Fine Wines, invite your party of eight to join the Lamperts
and the Sages at an unforgettable Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion Dinner at
the Lampert’s home in Sherman Oaks. Craig Strong, Michelin Star Chef de Cuisine
of The Dining Room at The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa will create an elaborate
six-course feast with each course specifically designed to match the fabulous wines
of Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, all from their greatest years of the four
decades. Chateau Haut-Brion was the only chateau to be named a First Growth in the
famed 1855 Bordeaux Classification outside the Medoc region. It has steadfastly
reigned at the top echelon of the world’s great wines ever since. Under the stewardship
of the Clarence Dillon family since the 1930s, it was formally linked to its neighbor
– the venerable Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion – when purchased from the Woltner
family in the mid-1980s. The selection of Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion
wines chosen for this dinner spans four decades and features the best vintages (1975,
1982, 1989 and 2000) of each. In fact, you’ll be enjoying wines that received 784
of a possible 800 points in your exploration of Haut-Brion! Several whites from
the Haut-Brion “stable” will round out the evening’s celebration.” And, you can
bet that Sharon and Hal will pull some additional surprises from their cellar just
to further delight your palate. Valid to 5/17/09 at a mutually convenient time.

Imagine…a six-day, five-night all-luxury holiday in Carmel, San Francisco and
Napa Valley for two couples. You’ll fly to the Bay Area in coach class courtesy
of Ocean Group LLC where you’ll first visit Carmel’s most luxurious inn – L’ Auberge
Carmel, and enjoy an overnight romantic getaway. Located in the heart of Carmel,
the original building was built in 1929. Today, it has been lovingly restored to
perfectly capture the unique aesthetic sense of Carmel as a village in the forest.
Also includes a Prix Fixe Menu for four paired with HdV wines at L’ Auberge Carmel's
new restaurant. HdV is a family venture between Hyde Vineyards of Napa Valley and
Aubert and Pamela de Villaine of Burgundy, France. The HdV wines are hand crafted
in the vineyard using the strictest philosophies of French viticulture. Hotel
stay valid Sunday through Thursday, excluding holidays and special events to 5/17/09.
Next, visit the city by the Bay for two nights where you’ll experience the luxurious
comfort, personal attention and impeccable surroundings of the Mandarin Oriental
San Francisco, Conde Naste Traveler’s “Reader’s Choice Award Best in the
World” hotel. High above it all, your “rooms in the sky” await you, with stunning
vistas of the world-famous San Francisco skyline. You’ll enjoy a cooking demonstration
with the hotel’s executive chef and then dine in splendor at the hotel’s award-winning
restaurant, Silks, renowned for its contemporary American cuisine with Pacific Rim
influences. Hotel stay valid to 5/17/09.
Finally, it’s on to the Napa Valley and Peter Michael Winery for a two-night
stay in the winery’s private guest home. In 1982, Sir Peter Michael established
the Peter Michael Winery on a square mile of rocky volcanic ridges that form the
western face of Mount St. Helena in Sonoma County. From the beginning, the wine
growing philosophy was modeled on the French tradition infused with a few modern
influences. Given this commitment to the product, only a limited quantity of wine
will ever be made. The foundation of the wine is crafted under the guidance of Winemaker
Nicolas Morlet who extends a very special invitation to join him during your stay
for a private tour and tasting. Stay is valid to 5/17/09, subject to availability.
Plus, enjoy a Chef’s Menu Tasting for Four at The French Laundry, courtesy of Chef/Owner
Thomas Keller, no expiration date. And, during your stay in the Napa Valley,
you’ll also visit HdV for a private tour and barrel tasting with the winemaker.

Paul Hobb’s pioneering spirit and instinct for identifying distinctive vineyard
sources has inspired a wealth of nicknames among the press, from quiet trendsetter
to prospector to truffle-hunting dog, which is perhaps the favorite!
Vineyard-driven wines have always been the focus at Paul Hobbs, and form the foundation
for their California and Argentine portfolios. For this year’s auction, Paul Hobbs
has assembled a twelve-magnum case of rare vineyard designate cabernet sauvignon
magnums to showcase the diversity of expression possible from four superlative vineyards
in Napa Valley. Meticulous and constant hand work in the vineyard, followed by minimally-invasive
winemaking techniques is Paul Hobbs’ approach for producing wines that express their
vineyard origins with utmost authenticity, depth and complexity. The wines in this
collection were bottled, unfined, unfiltered and unblended, to assure that nothing
is lost in the translation from vine to glass. This is truly a one-of-a-kind collection,
unlike anything Paul Hobbs has offered before.

Under the uncompromising leadership of Bill Harlan, Harlan Estate
is known as one of the truly collectable and sought after small production wines
from California. Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate among many others
have affirmed the exalted position of Harlan Estate Red Wines from vintage to vintage
as the wine continues to garner premium prices in all commercial auctions. The meticulous
attention to detail in the vineyard and in the winery has lead to impeccable quality,
depth and power. All are exhibited in tonight’s offering. Rich complex black fruit
along with complex tannin, structure and long exotic finish, indicate the aging
and growth potential of this fine wine. Winemaker Bob Levy and his team drew the
best from the 2004 vintage to produce a wine of monumental proportion that will
complement the finest occasion. This stellar Cabernet was awarded 95 points by Robert
Parker and 98 points by Wine Enthusiast. In this rare magnum format the wine
will continue to grow for many years to come.

For almost 40 years Paul Draper has been making the wines and
overseeing the vineyards for Ridge, located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Paul is
universally recognized as one of the premier winemakers in the world and has received
many honors for his expertise including being named Decanter magazine’s “Man
of the Year.” Paul’s philosophy has always been that the vineyard creates the wine;
every year he produces many single vineyard wines from numerous varietals and blends.
However, the kingpin of the vineyards – Montebello - surrounds the winery. Ridge
has been making wine from Montebello since 1968, and the character of the wines
has always been unique, beautifully expressing the terroir. The 1971 Montebello
was thought to be too “light” in the winery. But just two years ago, the wine was
named the grand winner in the 1976 Paris Tasting “Rematch” celebrating the 30th
anniversary of this groundbreaking event. The 2005 Montebello reflects the complexity
of the vintage. The typical Montebello structure and balance are woven with the
elegance and power that can only come from fruit grown in idyllic climatic conditions
and in just the right spot. Long favored by collectors and wine enthusiasts, Ridge
Montebello has reigned atop the hierarchy of the world’s great wines since its inception.

17th-century cortijo is relaxed and comfortable, perfect for enjoying this well-loved

that reflect the hills of the huge estate behind the house. Bedrooms and bathrooms

for their Tio Pepe sherry are grown here. Includes a visit to a bodega and daily
breakfast.

This is the first vintage under the full control of Jean-Philippe
Delmas, who succeeded his father, Jean-Bernard, the producer of all La Missions
between 1983 and 2003. Jean-Bernard succeeded his father, who produced every vintage
of Haut-Brion in the twenties, thirties, forties, and fifties. A blend of 55% Merlot,
42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Cabernet Franc, the 2004 exhibits a deep ruby/purple
color as well as a big nose of damp earth, cedar, smoke, tobacco, black currants,
and cherries. According to Robert Parker, “there is excellent sweetness, medium
to full body, serious muscle, elegance, and finesse in this fine La Mission. It
should be at its best between 2008 and 2020.” The 2004 Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion
has received Classic ratings from the worldwide wine press including Parker.
Charles Metcalf says “overall it's both very appealing, almost juicy and sweet,
but also very complex and stylish.” Stephen Tanzer goes further, saying the wine
“finishes with fine, broad tannins and noteworthy persistence. With its very fresh
style, this comes across as a bit more delineated today than the 2005 Haut-Brion.
An excellent showing.” This Imperial is directly from the cellar of Chateau La Mission
Haut-Brion and is a treasure to collect and enjoy - especially in its very rare
Imperial format.

2004 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Montrachet
1 bottle each (3 total)
Horizontal Collection
Domaine de la Romanee Conti has stood at the top of the famed Burgundy hierarchy
for many decades. Under the stewardship of Aubert de Villaine there is never any
compromise, as only the finest wines will be produced from each vintage. Here are
the flagship wines from the monopoles of La Tache and Romanee Conti as well as their
precious small block of Montrachet. Romanee Conti is always somewhat restrained
and tightly structured. La Tache is a bit more forward and true to its heritage.
Montrachet is simply among the finest wines produced in each vintage from this historic
property. This vintage represents the subtleties of fine Burgundies sought after
by connoisseurs and lovers of the region. Not overpowering as was the very hot 2003,
but more on Burgundy’s more elegant side for mid to long range cellaring.

3.0L 1983 Chateau d’Yquem
And so sweet it is! Chateau d’Yquem is regarded as one of the finest and most
cherished white wines in the world. It is the only chateau classified as “Premier
Grand Cru” in the 1855 Classification of Bordeaux and the only sweet wine included.
The 1983 vintage was characterized by perfect weather conditions with a long “Indian”
summer, and received ***** by Michael Broadbent in his New Great Vintage Wine
Book. Broadbent goes on to describe the 1983 d’Yquem as showing intensity, balance
and depth on the nose and palate with a long honeyed finish. It was also awarded
*****. Now the question is: What do I do with a 3.0L bottle of this collectable
and enjoyable gem? And the answer is: Anything your heart desires!

Your twelve-day, eleven-night cruise for two begins in Ushuaia,

Charles Banks, owner of the incomparable Screaming Eagle Winery
and David Slatkin, chef/owner of the innovative David’s Events have teamed up to
present a night to remember. Charles entered the wine industry in 2000, buying an
80-acre vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County. His passion for wine
led him to purchase Screaming Eagle Winery in 2006. For David Slatkin food has always
been a passion of his. David’s love of Latin and Caribbean food blended together
with Californian and Asian styles is a combination that has became his signature.
David will create a menu to pair with some of the best and most interesting gems
Charles has to offer selected from his personal wine cellar. From caviar to Kobe
beef, from Screaming Eagle to Jonata along with some of Charles’ personal favorites
from Napa and Bordeaux, your party of eight plus Charles and his wife Ali,
will savor an eight-course dinner to remember in the privacy of the winning bidder’s
home. Tonight, Charles and David invite you to experience a very rare opportunity
to enjoy scintillating conversation and some exceptional wines paired with an equally
dazzling menu. Valid to 05/017/09, at a mutually convenient time.

Paul and Suzie Frank, founders of Gemstone, chose to debut their
1997 vintage in 2000 at our 11th annual “Culinary Evening with the California Winemasters.”
The first public tasting of this very special wine was a remarkable success, and
it sold out upon release in a matter of days. Gemstone has been an important part
of our event ever since. Gemstone has been the darling of James Laube, Robert Parker
and many others “in the know” for many years. In 2006 Paul and Suzie were invited
by Laube to participate in the “Ten Hottest Cult Wines” seminar held during the
Wine Spectator’s Wine Experience in San Francisco. Among other honors, Gemstone
has garnered some of the highest barrel prices at the Napa Premier wine auctions.
And year after year, Gemstone has been a standout performer at our “Winemasters”
events. The Gemstone vineyard is planted with care, pride and knowledge on the rocky
Rector Creek alluvial fan in the Yountville Appellation. The wines have always expressed
the characters of the vineyard along with the expertise of fine winemaking and the
dedicated stewardship of the Franks. Earlier in 2008, Gemstone’s stewardship passed
to Carole and Michael Marks, whose enthusiasm and dedication promise to stay the
course. The 2005 Gemstone combines all of the depth, structure, elegance and breed
exhibited in prior releases, but to an even greater extent. It is also the first
Gemstone to be made entirely by Philipe Melka.

Our deepest gratitude to Honorary Wine Chairmen Suzie and Paul
Frank, the Emeril Lagasse Foundation and the Venetian for creating this singular
dinner.
A party of four (along with two Gemstone-related mystery guests)
is invited to enjoy a wine pairings dinner at world-renowned chef and restaurateur
Chef Emeril Lagasse’s newest restaurant, Table 10 located in The Palazzo in Las
Vegas. The Palazzo is a stunning stand-alone resort adjacent to the Venetian. The
name Table 10 is synonymous with the spirit of Emeril’s restaurants, a spirit that
began over 17 years ago, at a modest table in an unassuming building on the edge
of downtown New Orleans. The red brick warehouse space would soon become an award-winning
fine dining establishment, and Chef Emeril would soon become a household name. Daily
rituals were performed at this table (numbered 10 on the floor plan) – reviewing
blueprints, developing menus, interviewing staff and discussing plans– as they prepared
for the opening of Lagasse’s first restaurant, Emeril’s. When the restaurant doors
opened on March 24, 1990, every evening was ended at Table 10, and it became a roundtable
of lively conversations and a creative environment for new ideas. At this spectacular
dinner, you will enjoy copious bottles of rare Gemstone library wines to accompany
Emeril's cuisine. As a bonus, Emeril has added a $100 certificate to enjoy brunch
at any of his Las Vegas restaurants.
Where does your party stay? You're in for an experience
of regal proportions during a three-day, two-night weekend stay in either the Palazzo
or the Venetian Penthouse Suite (depending upon availability). The mosaic
tile entryway, phenomenal strip views and oriental artifacts may make you feel transported
to another era, but the 3,500-square foot room's amenities like the gym and sauna
are all state-of-the-art. This suite is more about indulgences than indecencies.
Your own personal butler can materialize at a moment's notice, seeming to anticipate
your every desire. The Canyon Ranch Spa can even have an aesthetician quietly slip
inside to administer a facial or collagen injections (not included!). Tonight's
Chairmen's Lot also includes roundtrip airport transfers by limousine and complimentary
house tickets to "Jersey Boy" and "Blue Man Group." Valid to 4/30/09, subject
to availability. Blackout dates apply.

With its silver-domed observatory perched on the edge of the
vineyard, Jaffe Estate marries the agricultural and the celestial, the earth and
the sky, to create transcendent wines. Two enduring passions come together here:
a lifelong fascination with astronomy and a love for the Napa Valley that began
decades ago. Jaffe Estate wines originate from that profound connection to the land,
the hills, the story, the sky and the rich possibility of the Napa Valley. You're
not likely to come across children's toys among the rows of most Napa Valley vineyards.
But Jaffe Estate is different. A family lives and plays here, in a lush, garden-like
setting where something is always growing, changing, unfolding. And where someone
is always looking at the stars. Situated in the St. Helena viticultural district
and bounded by the Rutherford bench to the south, the Jaffe vineyard is ideally
located to produce exceptional wine grapes. Its position in the middle of the St.
Helena alluvial fan combined with its Bale Loam soil creates the classic conditions
for producing reserve-quality red wines. If it sounds like Jaffe grapes are coddled,
consider this: When your family home sits in the middle of a vineyard, you attend
to the soil and the water, the budding and the leafing, the sun and the fog differently.
Factor in the only private research-grade observatory in the Napa Valley standing
shoulder-to-shoulder with the vines, and the powerful presence of light that has
traveled inconceivable distances to reach this very spot. Suddenly, the gift of
the present stands out in bright relief.
Your visit to the Jaffe estate includes Your visit to
the Jaffe estate includes a multi-course gourmet dinner for eight paired with both exceptional
Jaffe Estate wines plus a visit to the observatory for up-close views of star clusters, planets
and other celestial sights. 2005 Transformation - Inspired by the wines of Bordeaux's Right Bank, this blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon
and 45% Merlot is the earthier, smokier, more subtle expression of the Jaffe vineyard.
Transformation shares much in common with the Cabernets of the Rutherford appellation
to the south, but has greater aging potential and a more profound integration of
distinctive varieties. 2005 Metamorphosis is a traditionally styled Cabernet Sauvignon
blended with 15% Merlot. Aromas of black currant and powdery tannins deliver the
"big" taste of young Cabernet now, while promising a long and rewarding cellar life.
Dinner is valid to 5/17/09 at a mutually convenient time.
