Cystic fibrosis remains North America’s number
one inherited disease killer of children and young adults. Left untreated,
the disease leads rapidly to malnutrition, chronic lung infection and
death in the first decade of life. With 999 mutations of the cystic fibrosis
gene, this is the only disease that can affect every major organ in the
body. It is therefore extremely likely that many of the therapies currently
being developed for CF will also have application for a number of other
diseases affecting the health of millions of people worldwide.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has become one of the most successful voluntary
health organizations of its kind today. We are very proud of this accomplishment
and the fact that 91 cents out of every dollar raised goes directly into
our research and care programs. In fact, a recent edition of Wall Street
Journal’s SmartMoney recognized the Foundation as “the top charity in
the health-research category.”
Winemasters is the largest CFF fundraiser in Los Angeles raising close
to $16 million for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation over 18 years. “Adding
tomorrows every day” expresses the mission - and results - of the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation’s steadfast efforts to continue extending the length
and quality of life for people with CF. For more information please visit
